Believe it or not, basic SEO is all about common sense and simplicity.Basic SEO doesn’t require specialized knowledge of algorithms, programming and taxonomy but it does require a basic understanding of how search engines work.
SEO techniques are classified by some into two broad categories: techniques that search engines recommend as part of good design, and those techniques that search engines do not approve of and attempt to minimize the effect of, referred to as spam indexing.
These two techniques can be classified as: white hat SEO, or black hat SEO
White Hat SEO
A SEO tactic, technique or method is considered white hat if it conforms to the search engines' guidelines and involves no cheating of search engine. As such it not only means following search engine guidelines but also content a search engine indexes and subsequently ranks is the same content a user will see.
Black Hat SEO
Black Hat SEO attempts to improve rankings in ways that are not approved by the search engines, or involve cheating search engine by various techniques.
